My wife and I were watching When Harry Met Sally<\/em> (1989) [as we do every New Year\u2019s Eve] and there was a scene where Harry and Sally are talking on the phone while watching Casablanca<\/em> (1942). Casablanca<\/em> ends and Harry comments on how that movie has the best \u201clast line\u201d ever. That got me thinking about other movies with great closing lines.<\/p>\n

In chronological order, here are my personal favorite last lines.<\/p>\n

Fair warning: We\u2019re talking about last <\/em>lines. As in the ends of the movies. So there may be some spoilers.\u00a0 You\u2019ve been warned (insert ominous organ music and maniacal laughter here).<\/p>\n

Casablanca<\/em> (1942)<\/h2>\n

Just one of those lines that pierces through your ears (my wife calls it an \u201cearworm\u201d). Just a brilliant way to end a brilliant movie.<\/p>\n
